Ming Military Series II: The Hand Cannon Bearer

This illustration is part of my ongoing personal project, Visual Guide to the Ming Dynasty Military, a historical reconstruction series dedicated to documenting the soldiers, weapons, and military equipment of the Ming Dynasty.

This artwork depicts an early Ming hand cannon bearer, reconstructed through the study of historical illustrations, military manuals, archaeological references, and modern historical reenactments. The goal of the project is not only to recreate historical military appearance, but also to present the evolution of Ming military technology and battlefield doctrine in a format accessible to artists, game developers, and history enthusiasts.
